Professor Margaret Linehan is Head of School of Humanities, Cork Institute of Technology. Margaret has published 17 academic text books, and is the author of more than 65 peer reviewed journal papers.  Her research has been presented at many national and international conferences.  Her journal publications have received numerous awards, and many of her conference presentations have been short-listed for best paper awards.  She has also authored/co-authored various reports which have an industry and academic focus. 

In 2016, the British Academy of Management presented an award to Dr Linehan for ‘her outstanding contribution to the field of Management’.  She is the only Irish academic to receive such an award.  Dr Linehan is also founder and co-editor of the Irish Business Journal, a peer reviewed journal, which is now in existence for ten years.  She is also on the editorial board of many international journals.

Dr Linehan has published research in various fields, including women in international management, expatriation and repatriation of female executives, higher education, work-based learning, human resource management, leadership and librarianship, and work-family conflict.

Dr Linehan is Chair of the Irish Academy of Management, and has been an active Irish Academy of Management Council member for many years.  She has supervised numerous postgraduate theses at both Master and PhD level.  She has also acted as external examiner for viva voce examinations both nationally and internationally.
